The NGO “Department of Cultural Communities” has been working in the socio-cultural sphere since 2007. Since 2018, it has been actively organizing socio-cultural projects in different regions of Ukraine, and over the past two years has been implementing international cultural activities in support of Ukraine around the world. One of the main tasks of the Organization is to create a sustainable network of creative and practical cooperation in the creative sector between Ukrainians from different regions and the international community to disseminate Ukrainian content and context, as well as to build a platform for countering Russian propaganda through the implementation of successful Ukrainian projects.

The NGO “Department of Cultural Communities” is an association of active and conscious citizens who, through various projects, work on the sustainable development of a self-conscious society and cross-sectoral partnership. The main goal of the organization's activities is to educate, raise the professional and civic level of participants in the organization's projects, and develop cross-sectoral partnerships to find new tools for building a self-sufficient open and democratic society. Since its inception, the organization has proven itself in the cultural, social, infrastructure, and other spheres.

Cooperation and dialogue through practical action is one of the main principles of building civil society, which is what the organization is working on. That is why the purpose of the organization's projects is to create a platform for the exchange of experience not only between local assets, but also between regional/international communities, as this is one of the ways to ensure the important formation and development of the integrity of society in the country and the realization of its unifying values.

It is important for the organization to create a new type of partnership based on creativity, altruism, and humanitarian virtues, for which active citizens are responsible, because we are all responsible for what surrounds us, the conditions and the country we live in.

Since the beginning of the war, the NGO “Department of Cultural Communities” has been actively developing volunteer activities to help various local formations in the East, North, South and Central Ukraine. As in pre-war times, the organization considers it important for active citizens to participate not only in the life and formation processes of cities/regions, but also in their cooperation for more effective search for help and building/finding new ways of activity in current circumstances. Having considerable experience in implementing inter-sectoral and inter-regional activities, the team of the Department of Cultural Communities began to actively establish interaction between independent formations of different cities that were ready to increase efficiency and expand their volunteer and/or professional activities in the new realities.
